Cultural Programs

You can participate in theatre productions or the University Chorus.  In addition, all students can attend a variety of arts performances and lectures at no charge.

The campus offers a variety of cultural events during fall and spring semesters. These programs may include musical presentations, theater productions, poetry readings, guest lecturers, or gallery talks by exhibiting artists. The programs are usually scheduled at 12:30 pm and are 45-60 minutes in length. These presentations are FREE to students, faculty, and staff. They are advertised through The Communicator, flyers, and local newspapers.

The Ohio State-Lima Theatre Department presents three productions each year.  Rhodes State students are welcome to become involved in the cast or crew of each production. Theatre scholarships and student employment in select theatre areas are available for interested students. Information about these opportunities is available from theatre faculty and staff in Reed Hall.

The University Chorus is a large student vocal ensemble which performs a wide range of choral repertoire from traditional and historical musical periods through popular and Broadway choral works. The chorus is the largest musical ensemble on campus and performs one or more concerts on or off campus each term. Chorus membership is comprised of interested persons from all areas of the Lima Campus. For more information please contact the campus music department at 419-995-8382 and/or 419-995-8349.
