Tutoring Services

Tutoring is available to all Rhodes State College students free of charge for courses offered through the college. The goal of tutoring is to encourage students to develop skills, strategies, and attitudes necessary to reach their academic goals. Tutors provide help in specific course material and integrate study and learning strategies to promote independent learning.

To better serve students, tutoring services can be found in the Life and Physical Sciences building, as well as in an online environment:

  • Students can find assistance in Science Building, Room 240.
  • Free online tutoring is available in math, writing, accounting, biology, chemistry, and anatomy and physiology

Scheduling an appointment is the best way to ensure that a tutor is available to address specific concerns and offer assistance; however walk-in tutoring is also available daily.

In addition to working with students on course-specific topics, tutors are available to guide students in strategies and techniques for being a successful college student. Tutors can help in many ways, such as learning new ways to prepare for and take tests, finding out how to get the most out of classroom lectures, or discovering effective ways to manage time.

To schedule an appointment with a tutor, call our office assistant at (419) 995-8039.
