On November 9 to November 10, 1938, the Nazis in Germany torched synagogues, vandalized Jewish hospitals, homes, schools and businesses and killed close to 100 Jews. During “Kristallnacht,” also called the “Night of Broken Glass,” some 30,000 Jewish men were arrested for the “crime” of being Jewish and sent to Nazi concentration camps. The Holocaust of the European Jews was not hidden. It was, in fact, an open secret. The Nazis relied on fear, indifference, and the “normalization” of horror to implement The Final Solution.
