The Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation (OSPF) and the Rhodes State College Suicide Prevention Program will offer workforce development in suicide prevention for behavioral health professionals on June 8, 2017. This will take place at the Keese Hall Multipurpose Center of Rhodes State College, 4240 Campus Drive, Lima, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

OSPF will offer behavioral health professionals serving youth and young adults (ages 10-24) training in Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR). This interactive training will provide behavioral health professionals with knowledge, skills, and confidence to help with suicidal patients, how to form accurate judgements on client well-being, how to engage in safety planning, and how to respond to suicide related-behaviors in clients while receiving CEUs.

This training will provide behavioral health professionals with knowledge, skills, and confidence to help patients struggling with suicidality. AMSR training is being offered to professionals free of charge through SAMHSA funding: Participants will only be charged approximately $30 to cover the cost of CEUs, lunch, and registration processing.
