Solar Electric Certification Workshop

Rhodes State College, in conjunction with the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) and Blue Rock Station, will host a five-day Solar Electric (Photovoltaic) workshop May 8-12.  This program qualifies for 35 hours of continuing education.  Refer to the attached flyer for details.

This course is designed for beginners, so experience with electric or electronics is not necessary. In this class you will gain practical real world hands-on experience and will be job-ready to join one of the fastest growing industries in the U.S.  This course will cover:

• Basic Principles and Concepts of Power
• Basic Principles and Concepts of Photovoltaics
• The Economics of Photovoltaics
• Photovoltaic System Options and Components
• Standard system configurations
• Site assessment
• Designing a PV system
• Battery Systems
• System Installation
• Permits and Required Agreements
• Testing and Commissioning the System
• System Maintenance and Troubleshooting

The course concludes with an industry-recognized certification examination.

Cost includes starter kit, materials, meals and certification exam.
