Local Artist Jonathan Honaker’s Works to be on Display at Rhodes State College

LIMA, OHIO – The original works of Jonathan Honaker will be on display in the Countryman Building at James A. Rhodes State College starting November 14, 2018. The Countryman Building is located just off of Biddle Drive on the campus, 4240 Campus Drive, Lima, OH.

Honaker, who attends the Marimor Industries Adult Services program, ArtAbility, is widely recognized for his multi panel mural depicting the history of Lima, which was a centerpiece of the downtown Art Park.

Jonathan began to sketch at an early age. It was in high school, with the encouragement from his art instructors, that he became more serious about his talents. While Honaker says he finds inspiration in the “simple things,” he is a true student of art, exploring and working in a variety of styles and techniques.

ArtAbility Studio has proven to be an exciting and successful venture for Marimor Adult Services that helps promote the ideas of choice and program alternatives for the people served. The individuals work, but in a more artistic and creative setting.

The studio focuses on developing and promoting creativity and expression in people with disabilities. A group of 10-12 artists from Marimor attend the studio five days a week working on a variety of independent projects. The artists participate in several events and shows throughout the year. Many pieces are on display, year round, at a variety of offices, businesses and educational centers throughout he community.
