LIMA OH (December 12, 2016) - Rhodes State College’s Criminal Justice Department hosted its second annual Memorial Tree Lighting on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 5:00 P.M. This ceremony honored Criminal Justice Officers and K-9 who lost their lives in the line of duty during 2016 in the United States. The college’s Criminal Justice students will light the tree in memory of 135 (to date) fallen correction and police officers, as well as K-9’s. A live spruce located in front of the college’s Technical Education Laboratory was transformed for the season with warm white and blue lights. The memorial tree is visible from all points of the main campus at 4240 Campus Drive and incorporates all areas of Criminal Justice by involving current students and employees from numerous Correction and Law Enforcement agencies who gathered to honor those who gave their lives to protect and serve.
