Rhodes State College to Host Exercise Science Open House 2018

The Exercise Science program of Rhodes State College will host an Open House on Friday, April 27, from noon-2:00 p.m. in the Technical Education building. Students from Lima Senior and Bath High schools will visit the new Exercise Science Lab, which boasts high-end training equipment and the latest in fitness technology. They will experience updated technologies through hands-on activities, which will enable them to participate in a college lab setting and expose them to actual scenarios expected in the workplace.

According to Amanda Beard, Exercise Science Program Coordinator, “The Exercise Science program is perfect for those pursuing careers such as strength & conditioning, athletic training, nutrition, cardiac rehabilitation, corporate wellness and more. Students can turn their passion for sports and fitness into a thriving professional career. When you enroll in the exercise science program at Rhodes State College, you are beginning a career pathway leading to experience, certification, and higher education in highly sought-after careers. At Rhodes State, experienced faculty will guide you through the foundations of exercise physiology. Hands on experiences and professionally guided internships give students the competency needed to enter into new careers with confidence and skill.”

Additionally, local professionals from exercise science and sports medicine communities will engage students in discussions about various professions available along an exercise science education pathway. They will have the opportunity to learn more about working in areas such as strength and conditioning, athletic training, exercise physiology, cardiac rehabilitation, health and wellness promotion, education and research and more.
