Rhodes State Named to Victory Media’s 2017 Military Friendly Schools List

LIMA, OH (December 13, 2016) - Rhodes State College is pleased to announce that it has again been designated a 2017 Military Friendly® School by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs®, STEM JobsSM, and Military Spouse. This honor ranks Rhodes State in the top 15% of all colleges, universities, and trade schools nationwide. 

According to Daniel Nichols, a Navy Reserve veteran and Chief Product Officer at Victory Media, “Our ability to apply a clear, consistent standard to the majority of colleges gives veterans a comprehensive view of which schools are striving to provide the best opportunities and conditions for our nation’s student veterans. Military Friendly® helps military families make the best use of the Post-9/11 GI Bill and other federal benefits while allowing us to further our goal of assisting them in finding success in their chosen career fields.”

Rhodes State proudly supports current military service members, their spouses and veterans. The college provides personalized assistance and support with the enrollment process while assisting with scheduling, financial aid, academic counseling and career services. Early registration, free access to a college counselor and tutoring (as needed) are offered and there is a certifying official on campus to assist with VA benefits. Rhodes State College honors credit equivalencies as defined by the American Council on Education (ACE) for military course work, experience, and testing programs such as CLEP and DANTES. 

The college is also designated as a Purple Heart Campus. The Military Order of the Purple Heart Special Recognition Award was bestowed with pride to Rhodes State College for their dedication and support in honoring America’s combat-wounded veterans.
