Candy Van Buskirk, Ph.D. (Indiana State University)

Candy serves as the Assistant Superintendent at the Career Academy Network of Public Schools in South Bend, Indiana. Her two decades of professional experience spans a diverse range of educational contexts, from K-12 to higher education. As the founder of Lead E2, LLC, an educational leadership consultancy, Candy is committed to advancing education through innovative practices that promote excellence and equity for all students and educators. A sampling of her many accomplishments includes being named women’s basketball coach of the year at both the college and high school levels, founding and leading a basketball camp for junior high and high school students called Camp Candy, and leading a grant-funded partnership between Career Academy and the Boys and Girls Club of St. Joseph County, Indiana. Candy recently published her first book, Learn Outside: Rising Together to Disrupt the Status Quo in Education, which both challenges and inspires educators to advocate for more equitable and engaging educational practices. |
