Cenovus Energy Grant to Advance STEM Education at Rhodes State

The Rhodes State College Foundation is announcing a $15,650 grant from Cenovus Energy. The grant will support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education initiatives for at youth through Rhodes State’s Rhodesology Youth Programs.

Ashley Hunter, Coordinator of Youth and Community Programming at Rhodes State College, expressed gratitude for the support, "This grant from Cenovus Energy will bolster the efforts of Rhodesology in our mission to inspire and educate youth in grades 2-7 about STEM careers."

The grant from Cenovus Energy will be directly allocated towards scholarships and program enhancements, thereby expanding the reach and impact of STEM education among students. This partnership exemplifies the shared commitment of Rhodes State College and Cenovus Energy to fostering the development of the next generation of STEM leaders and innovators.

The Rhodesology summer camps introduce and educate young learners about the vast array of career opportunities available within STEM fields. Now in its eleventh year, the Rhodesology program provides accessible avenues for local youth to explore and engage with STEM career paths within a hands-on and fun. Noteworthy camps for the current year include LEGO: Super Structures, Microscope "I Spy," BattleBots, Animation and Virtual Reality, and Environment, Health, & You.
